Wayne Thiebaud on Rosa Bonheur’s “The Horse Fair”
“You really can identify and walk up to those horses because the space is so valid.”
The Artist Project is a 2015 online series produced by the Metropolitan Museum of Art in which they give artists an opportunity to respond to their incredible collection.

Parsons School of Design in 1960’s came to the Met Museum every week to learn own to paint rooms, furniture, textiles, and silver. On one of those trips to the second floor, I found Horse Fair by Rosa Bonheur. Three years into my art studies, I stopped cold in my tracks to admire this Masterpiece. Happy to hear Wayne Thiebaud and I can agree how complex and wonderful this piece is!
