Fascinating presentation explaining Edwin Dickinson’s approach to teaching painting. Lengthy video of a Workshop and Lecture given by the painter John Leavey titled “The Perfect Squint: The Teaching Legacy of Edwin Dickinson”
John Leavey studied with Edwin Dickinson at the Art Students League in 1955-1961.
“Dickinson said that he wasn’t aware of consciously teaching the way his teachers taught him. The reason is that the period of time he spent studying as a student is so much less time the the period of time he spent as a painter.”

“Must See!”
Can’t wait to go out and hear the sounds of colors within my painting.
Just attended class with C. Kehoe about working with contiguous colors in building a painting.
Great demo in this video of that concept and its importance.
Appreciate you sharing this video. Will pass it along to friends.
