Stuart Shils workshop in San Diego – upcoming.

March 23, 2011 By Larry Leave a Comment

We are approaching the final stretch of putting together the Masterclass Intensive 3 Day workshop with Stuart Shils here in San Diego starting April 28th through May 1st of this year. There are still positions open for the workshop. Several painters who’ve taken his workshop have emphatically told me what a significant impact his workshop has had on opening up and advancing their work. Also what an engaging speaker and teacher he is. Stuart Shils’ workshop is significantly different from other landscape oriented workshops in that he isn’t offering cliched landscape formulas and techniques but instead teaches you how to really look at the landscape in a pictorial sense. The focus is on learning to see the essential and how to best translate that into a visual language of paint.

I recently added a section on the website here that gives a brief overview of the workshop and other details, I’ve also added the ability to pay for the deposit online via paypal. Additionally, I’d like to remind that he is also giving a free lecture and slide presentation at the San Diego Art Institute’s Museum of the Living Artist in Balboa Park on Thurs, April 28th.

I have a number of articles, interviews and videos planned about some terrific artists in the next several days and weeks. My frequency in posting should pick up considerably in the near future.
