
UNDER THE ITALIAN SKY with DEAN FISHER

Landscape Painting at the Certosa di Pontignano in Siena, Italy
July 15 – July 22, 2012
I will be bringing a group of 10 students; registration is on a 1st come 1st serve basis.
Includes 1 week of intensive instruction, 4-6 hours daily, covering color theory, composition, aerial and linear perspective, paint handling including glazing, study of the history of landscape painting from past to present and applying what is gleaned to one’s paintings, all while painting the mesmerizing Tuscan Italian landscape!
There will also be portrait/figure sessions on several evenings as well as instructor demonstrations, group critiques; all of what I offer at Silvermine only more of it! This is a course for all levels of ability with individual instruction tailored to the level of each student.

Excursions to neighboring towns to view museums and art treasures of past centuries, lodging and dining all which take place in the absolutely gorgeous 14th century monastery seen in the photos below. All meals are prepared in house by local chefs.
All of the above is included as well as transportation to and from the airport with the exception of airfare for $2,650.
